Tuesday, Kentucky Chamber vice president Bryan Sunderland spoke at a news conference to promote policies in Kentucky that will increase investment in wireless broadband technologies in Kentucky. Along with Sen. Paul Hornback and members of Citizens for a Digital Future (CDF), Sunderland detailed the need for access to wireless s and broadband in Kentucky. The Chamber believes this legislation is necessary to remove regulatory barriers that currently stand in the way of additional investment. Wireless and broadband technology is important to keep Kentucky competitive in the race for jobs and to support and strengthen education.
“Simply put, Kentucky must expand its wireless and broadband infrastructure if we are to remain competitive and continue to provide Kentucky children with the best possible education,” said Sunderland.
Sen. Hornback announced the filing of SB 88, legislation designed to remove unnecessary barriers to investment in wireless and broadband technologies. His legislation includes special regulations to ensure rural areas are not adversely impacted by the bill. SB 88 is expected to be heard soon in a Senate committee.
