Mike McKenzie, recently announced as the program manager for the Leadership Institute for School Principals, posed with Institute chairman Joel Hopper, Brenntag Mid-South, and Chamber Senior VP of Membership Kelly Wolf at the 5-Year Celebration last week.

The Kentucky Chamber Foundation’s Leadership Institute for School Principals celebrated its 5th anniversary with a two-day event in Lexington with a reception, sponsored by Alltech, on June 16 and the full 5-year celebration on  June 17.

Sponsored by AT&T, the event featured speakers from the Bush Institute, the Wallace Foundation, the University of Illinois and Raise your Hand Texas, and offered a continuing education opportunity for the program’s 255 alumni.

More than 70 alumni and business leaders who’ve supported the program attended the reception at Town Branch Distillery in Lexington and full event at the Hyatt Regency.

During the event, Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Dave Adkisson introduced Mike McKenzie, who was recently named the program manager of the Leadership Institute Program.

McKenzie, a former principal, will focus on sponsor and principal engagement.

“We are proud of the fact that Kentucky is the only state in which the business community has made this kind of investment in its principals,” said Adkisson.
