Rep. Koenig, Sen. McDaniel, Rep. Wuchner Presented with Chamber MVP Award

NKY MVP AwardsOn Tuesday, Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Dave Adkisson presented Rep. Adam Koenig, Senator Chris McDaniel, and Rep. Wuchner with the Kentucky Chamber MVP Award during the Northern Kentucky Chamber Eggs ‘N Issues event. These Northern Kentucky legislators were among a select group of legislators who “went to bat” for Kentucky business during the 2018 Kentucky General Assembly.

The Chamber’s MVP award recipients displayed more than just a business-friendly voting record but also went out of their way, and at times across party lines, to support or oppose an issue critical to the business climate in Kentucky.

Representative Koenig showed leadership for the business community on several issues including sponsoring House Bill 2, workers’ compensation reform, which is the first major reforms in over 20 years and is now estimated to significantly decrease costs for public and private employers.

Senator McDaniel chaired the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee, helping pass a biennial budget that prioritizes education funding and pass tax reform legislation that improves Kentucky’s competitiveness.

Representative Addia Wuchner has consistently demonstrated leadership for key business issues during her time in office. In 2018, she sponsored and passed House Bill 4, medical peer review legislation, a major priority of the Kentucky Chamber for many years.

“During this high-profile legislative session, Rep. Koenig, Sen. McDaniel, and Rep. Wuchner were strong friends to the business community,” said Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Dave Adkisson. “These legislators played a historic role in making Kentucky a better place to do business.”

In addition to monitoring the progress of bills that create a better business climate and advance the Commonwealth, the Chamber tracks how each legislator votes on these bills.
