In a meeting on Wednesday, the House Democratic caucus elected their leadership team for the next two years.
The leadership team for the House Democratic caucus will include:
- Minority Floor Leader
Rep. Rocky Adkins of Sandy Hook - Minority Caucus Chair
Rep. Derrick Graham of Frankfort - Minority Whip
Rep. Joni Jenkins of Louisville
Rep. Adkins, who is running for governor is 2019, was re-elected to his position as the Democratic leader in the House. Reps. Graham and Jenkins were elected to leadership roles for the first time. In a press release Wednesday, the House Democratic caucus noted Graham is the first African-American and Jenkins is the second woman in history to be a Democratic leader in the House.
