Representative Jason Nemes of Louisville has been chosen by his colleagues to replace outgoing Representative Chad McCoy as the Majority Caucus Whip in the Kentucky House of Representatives for a two-year term.
The four other members of House Majority Leadership – Rep. David Osborne (Speaker of the House), Rep. David Meade (Speaker Pro Tempore), Rep. Steven Rudy (Majority Floor Leader), and Rep. Suzanne Miles (Majority Caucus Chair) – retained their respective posts in the caucus, which was extended from 75 to now 80 members after the November 8 elections.
First elected to the House in 2016, Nemes served the past two sessions as co-chair of the Legislative Oversight and Investigations Committee, as well as a ranking member of the following House standing committees: BR Subcommittee on Justice, Public Safety, and Judiciary; State Government; Judiciary; Appropriations and Revenue; and Elections, Constitutional Amendments and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Also this week, the Senate majority held their elections, which resulted in the reelection of all five members of leadership.
