Kentucky Chamber Names House Speaker David Osborne a 2026 MVP Award Recipient

Kentucky House Speaker David Osborne has been named a recipient of the Kentucky Chamber’s 2026 MVP Award in recognition of his leadership during the 2026 legislative session. He is among a select group of legislators honored for their work to advance policies that strengthen Kentucky’s economy, support employers, and improve the Commonwealth’s competitiveness.

Recipients of the Kentucky Chamber MVP Award demonstrate exceptional leadership for Kentucky’s business community by sponsoring or carrying Chamber priority legislation to final passage, leading on critical policy issues, or taking difficult votes in support of a stronger business climate.

Speaker Osborne helped guide pro-business legislation through the House while working to stop measures that could hurt Kentucky’s economic momentum. He was a co-sponsor of House Bill 6, a landmark child care reform package aimed at expanding access for working families and addressing workforce challenges. His leadership also helped secure record funding for child care to support Kentucky families and employers.

He has also been a steadfast champion of lowering Kentucky’s personal income tax, helping Kentuckians keep more of their hard-earned money. In addition, Speaker Osborne championed economic development priorities, including alternative aviation fuel.

“Speaker Osborne continues to provide steady leadership in advancing policies that support economic growth and job creation,” said Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Ashli Watts. “From child care to economic development, his leadership has been essential to delivering results for Kentucky employers and working families.”

The 2026 General Assembly made progress on many top priorities of the Kentucky business community, and the pro-growth policies that passed saved Kentucky businesses an estimated $1.564 billion, or $911 per private-sector employee in the Commonwealth.

While monitoring legislation that impacts Kentucky’s business climate, the Kentucky Chamber tracks lawmakers’ support for policies that help employers grow, create jobs, and invest in their communities. MVP Award recipients distinguish themselves not only through their voting records but through their leadership in advancing solutions that strengthen Kentucky’s economy.
