Ky. Chamber asks members and citizens to call for passage of Trade Promotion Authority

The United States Senate is expected to vote this week on Trade Promotion Authority (TPA), a bill to open new international markets to products made in America. The Kentucky Chamber has advocated for passage of the TPA bill and is asking Kentuckians to urge for passage of the legislation.

The Chamber believes this legislation is vital because economic growth and job creation at home depend on the ability to sell American goods and services to the 95% of the world’s customers living outside of the United States.

International trade supports 38 million jobs in the United States and over 500,000 jobs in Kentucky. From cars to bourbon to jet engines, Kentucky jobs depend on selling our goods abroad. Passage of a new trade deal means more jobs in Kentucky and would break down barriers to products made in America. Click to learn more about TPA.

The Kentucky Chamber commends Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s support on trade. As a vote is expected on the legislation, the Kentucky Chamber is encouraging its members and the general public to call Sen. Rand Paul and member of the state’s federal delegation and tell them to support Trade Promotion Authority to support Kentucky jobs.

Call 1-888-373-9401 today and let your members of Congress know free trade is good for Kentucky jobs and to Vote YES on TPA.  You can also text “TPA” to 52886 to be connected with your Representative.
