Bevin names John Chilton as state budget director 

 Governor-Elect Matt Bevin announced Tuesday that John E. Chilton will be State Budget Director. 

Chilton, co-founder of Mountjoy, Chilton and Medley CPAs and Advisors, is a CPA focusing on domestic and international income and other taxes, with an emphasis on business valuation, business acquisition, disposition and reorganization.  

Chilton has been a long-time volunteer of the Kentucky Chamber, serving on the Board of Directors, Tax Advisory Group and Chair of the Competitiveness Policy Council. As Chair of the Competitiveness Council, Chilton led the group by seeking to increase Kentucky’s competitiveness, not only with our border states, but with competitors around the world. Under his leadership, the council was actively engaged in policy initiatives aimed at modernizing the economy, creating jobs, supporting state income and expenditure practices that promote long-term economic growth in Kentucky and improving the quality of life for all citizens.

The state budget director provides the governor analysis, advice, research, and management assistance regarding policy, budget, and economic issues facing the Commonwealth and works to ensure the fiscal integrity and continuity of Kentucky state government.
