Kentucky Chamber President Dave Adkisson and VP of Public Affairs Ashli Watts present Sen. Max Wise with Chamber MVP Award

On Tuesday, Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Dave Adkisson presented State Senator Max Wise (R-Campbellsville) with the Chamber MVP Award. Sen. Wise was among a select group of legislators recognized for conspicuous actions supporting Kentucky’s business community during the 2016 Kentucky General Assembly.

Wise received a 100% voting record with the Kentucky Chamber during the 2016 session and sponsored the Senate version of the Chamber’s top priority public-private partnership (P3) legislation.

“With so many important business issues in play during a legislative session, we feel it is important to highlight the efforts of those legislators who went out of their way to help ensure a positive business climate,” said Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Dave Adkisson. “During the 2016 session, Senator Wise played a key role in passage of the business community’s top priority, public-private partnerships legislation. After many years of P3 legislation falling short of the finish line, Sen. Wise’s sponsorship of the legislation in the Senate and his work across the aisle helped ensure the bill’s passage in 2016.”

In addition to monitoring the progress of bills that directly relate to the strength of the Commonwealth’s business community, the Chamber tracks how each legislator votes on these bills. The Chamber’s MVP award recipients displayed more than just a business-friendly voting record, but also went out of their way, and at times across party lines, to support or oppose an issue critical to the business climate in Kentucky.
