Solutions to the opioid epidemic in Kentucky are not only being discussed by industry professionals, but former governors and sports radio talk show hosts are also joining the conversation at the Kentucky Opioid Summit on Monday, June 24.
Speakers at the summit will include former Director of National Drug Policy Michael Botticelli, NBA Broadcaster and University of Kentucky Basketball Pre-Game Radio Co-host Rex Chapman, and former Governor Ernie Fletcher.
Both Botticelli and Gov. Fletcher will speak on the business community’s role in the opioid crisis. Fletcher will speak on the Recover Kentucky Program and the impact it is making across the Commonwealth and will talk about the importance of a quality job during an individual’s recovery.
Additionally, Jenny Burke from the National Safety Council will talk about the cost of the opioid crisis to Kentucky business as well as strategies to successfully address opioid, drug, and substance in the workplace.
As Kentucky is battling the impacts of the opioid crisis in its families, communities, and bottom line, state leaders like Van Ingram, Executive Director of the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy, and Sharon Walsh, PhD., Director of Center on Drug and Alcohol Research (CDAR) at the University of Kentucky, will talk about policy-driven and scientific solutions they are working on to fight this epidemic.
Employers are struggling to find and retain workers, and the opioid crisis is making the challenges even greater for business. Hear from these professionals and many more at the inaugural Kentucky Opioid Summit hosted by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Isaiah House on Monday, June 24.
