House Joint Resolution 1 extends key emergency orders through January 15, 2022, when the regular legislative session begins. At that time, the emergency orders will be re-evaluated for another extension.
Following yesterday’s final passage of a resolution to preserve many emergency executive orders enacted by Gov. Andy Beshear to combat COVID-19, the Kentucky Chamber released a statement thanking the Kentucky General Assembly for their leadership and commitment.
Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Ashli Watts released the following statement on Wednesday:
“With the passage of HJR 1, we applaud the strong leadership in Frankfort to do what is necessary to stop the spread of COVID-19 and ensure our health and economic recovery. The General Assembly and the Governor provided critical relief for employers who continue to struggle with health and economic uncertainty and workforce shortages created by the pandemic. The business community will continue to do its part to combat the virus and support policies that ensure our recovery.”
