Commonwealth reports budget surplus

The Commonwealth of Kentucky has achieved a budget surplus for the third consecutive year, according to the office of the State Budget Director. In fiscal year 2023, the General Fund receipts amounted to $15.1 billion, surpassing the budget estimates by $1.4 billion. This surplus represents the largest revenue surplus in Kentucky’s history.
