The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) has announced three finalists in the nationwide search for the system’s next president. The new president is expected to begin in January 2024.
The following have been named as finalists:
- Dr. Ryan Quarles, Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture
- Dr. Dean McCurdy, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana
- Dr. Beverly Walker-Griffea, President, Mott Community College, Flint, Michigan.
The three candidates are expected to have a meeting with the KCTCS Board of Regents as well as the 16 college presidents across Kentucky. A virtual forum with all KCTCS faculty and staff is also planned for the candidates.
The chosen president will replace Ashland Community and Technical College President Larry Ferguson, Ph.D., who has served as acting president since February 2023 following Paul Czarapata, Ed.D.
