Kentucky Chamber’s Results for Business Publication Highlights Advocacy of 2025 Legislative Session

The Kentucky Chamber’s summary of the 2025 Kentucky General Assembly and its implications for businesses is now available for download. The Chamber’s Results for Business publication contains bill descriptions, details of priority legislation that passed, a legislative voting record, and more.

Some of the key highlights from this year’s session include:

The Chamber’s advocacy resulted in $1.084 billion in savings for Kentucky employers, equating to savings of $629 per private-sector employee in the Commonwealth.

As its top priority in 2025, lawmakers reduced the state’s individual income tax from 4.0 percent to 3.5 percent, effective next year. This results in $718 million annually in savings for Kentucky’s workers, and an estimated $97.6 million in direct business savings for pass-through entities next year.

In addition, the Chamber’s advocacy helped create a more flexible path for future income tax cuts, streamline the state’s occupational health and safety regulations to align with federal standards, protect critical infrastructure, and more.

Thanks to the Chamber’s leadership at the Capitol, several harmful bills that would have negatively impacted business owners’ bottom lines were defeated.

In the scorecard evaluating how legislators voted on Chamber-supported legislation, a record 68 lawmakers received a 100% score this session.

“The business community thanks the General Assembly for their work this session. This progress keeps the Commonwealth on a strong trajectory,” said Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Ashli Watts. “The Kentucky Chamber advocacy team stands ready to continue partnering with lawmakers to strengthen Kentucky’s business climate and ensure our Commonwealth is positioned as a top state to live, work, and do business.”
