Kentucky Chamber Recognizes 2026 Fellowship for Civic Leadership Class

The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce has recognized its 2026 class of the Fellowship for Civic Leadership program after two days of intensive training in May.

The Kentucky Chamber launched the Fellowship for Civic Leadership in 2024 to strengthen civic engagement across the Commonwealth by preparing business leaders, aspiring public officials, and civic-minded individuals who are passionate about free enterprise to pursue public service and elected office.

Through the program, participants learned directly from elected officials, campaign professionals, and policy experts about the realities of running for office and serving in public leadership roles. Sessions covered Kentucky’s political landscape, campaign strategy, fundraising, voter outreach, media relations, campaign finance laws, and effective communication on public policy issues.

Fellows also built connections with peers from across the Commonwealth and engaged with elected leaders, including U.S. Congressman James Comer, members of the General Assembly, local officials, and Kentucky Chamber leaders.

“Kentucky’s future depends on strong leaders who are willing to step forward, engage in their communities, and help solve the challenges facing our Commonwealth,” said Kentucky Chamber Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Kate Shanks. “The Fellowship for Civic Leadership was created to encourage more people to see public service as a meaningful way to make a difference. We are building a network of leaders who understand the importance of civic engagement, principled leadership, and creating opportunities for Kentucky to thrive.”
