Bob Woodward replaces “Morning Joe” hosts as keynote speaker for Annual Meeting

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, hosts of MSNBC’s popular talk show Morning Joe, have canceled their appearance during the Kentucky Chamber’s Business Summit and Annual Meeting on July 12 at the Louisville Marriott Downtown. The Annual Meeting, presented by Greenebaum Doll and McDonald, will begin as scheduled with a cocktail reception at 5 p.m., with legendary journalist Bob Woodward providing the keynote presentation.

Best known for his role in uncovering the Watergate scandal, Woodward has won every journalism prize imaginable, including two Pulitzers. Woodward has authored 16 non-fiction books in the last 36 years and has had more No. 1 national non-fiction bestsellers than any contemporary author. He has written numerous books about the Clinton, Bush and Obama presidencies, and was awarded the Pulitzer for his reporting on the aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001. He has worked as a reporter for The Washington Post since 1971 and is currently an associate editor. His presentation during the Kentucky Chamber’s Annual Meeting will provide an inside look at the workings of the government and its political leaders.

“Some days you just get lucky,” Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Dave Adkisson said of the change. “When we got the news of Joe and Mika’s unexpected withdrawal yesterday we scrambled to find a suitable replacement. We had considered Woodward in previous years, but he had not been available. Needless to say, we were thrilled when we received word that world-renowned journalist Bob Woodward was available and willing to come to Kentucky!”
