Chamber President and CEO Dave Adkisson sent a letter to Sen. McConnell Friday thanking him for his role in reopening the government and avoiding a credit default that could have spelled disaster for markets here and abroad. Adkisson also offered thanks to each member of the Congressional delegation who voted for the measure in the face of political attacks.
Additionally, the letters encouraged Members of Congress to work on a long-term deal to reduce the federal deficit by passing entitlement reform and enacting permanent federal tax reform to make our federal tax code more competitive. He also encouraged them to work on comprehensive immigration reform and correcting problems with the federal health reform law.
