On Tuesday, Ford Motor Company announced an investment of $900 million and the retention of 1,000 jobs at the Louisville Kentucky Truck Plant.
Ford, a Kentucky Chamber member, is expanding and upgrading the plant to begin building the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator, which they will export to 55 global markets.
This announcement follows Ford’s $1.3 billion investment in 2015, which created 2,000 jobs. Currently, the Kentucky Truck Plant employees 7,600 full-time employees and is one of the state’s largest private employers.
“We are ecstatic Ford chose to make this additional investment here, securing the futures of 1,000 of its employees,” Governor Matt Bevin tweeted.
