In a meeting on Friday, the House Democratic caucus elected their new leadership team.
The leadership team for the House Democratic caucus will include:
- Minority Floor Leader
Rep. Joni Jenkins of Louisville - Minority Caucus Chair
Rep. Derrick Graham of Frankfort - Minority Whip
Rep. Angie Hatton of Whitesburg
The leadership election comes after former House Minority Floor Leader Rocky Adkins was appointed to the position of Senior Advisor to Gov. Andy Beshear.
Jenkins has served in House leadership before, previously serving as minority whip. Jenkins becomes the first woman to lead a party’s legislative caucus in Kentucky.
Rep. Graham retains his position as minority caucus chair while Rep. Hatton will serve in a leadership role for the first time as minority whip.
