GOP State Rep. Savannah Maddox joins 2023 governor’s race primary

On Monday, Kentucky state Representative Savannah Maddox announced she is entering the 2023 governor’s race.

Maddox is the fourth GOP candidate to enter the race as Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced his candidacy in May in addition to Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles launching his campaign  and Kentucky Auditor Mike Harmon announcing his intent last year.

Other names have also been rumored as potential candidates in the GOP primary.

Current Democratic Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has confirmed he is running for re-election.
