The Kentucky Chamber announced the promotion of Jacqueline Pitts to Senior Vice President of Communications and Marketing on Monday.
Pitts has served as creator and managing editor of The Bottom Line, the news site of the Kentucky Chamber, since joining the Chamber staff in December 2014. In February 2017, she was promoted to the position of Director of Communications, spearheading communication efforts of the Chamber before becoming the organization’s first Vice President of Communications and Marketing in 2021 with the formation of a communications department.
Under her leadership, the Chamber’s communications efforts have gained national recognition and Pitts was named as one of the top 40 Under 40 Emerging Leaders Shaping the Chamber Industry in 2021.
“I am thrilled to promote Jacqueline Pitts to Senior Vice President of Communications and Marketing for the Kentucky Chamber. During her eight-year tenure at the Chamber, she has transformed how a chamber traditionally communicates. As a nationally known leader in her field, Jacqueline’s innovation and creativity have led our communications efforts to new heights, helping grow membership and furthering our reach,” Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Ashli Watts said.
Prior to her work at the Chamber, Pitts worked as a political producer for a nightly political television show, cn|2’s Pure Politics. She is a graduate of Western Kentucky University where she majored in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. Pitts is a graduate of Leadership Kentucky and serves on the board of Jobs for Kentucky’s Graduates.
In addition, the Kentucky Chamber announced expanded leadership in the communications department with the promotion of Sawyer Coffey to Director of Communications. Coffey joined the Kentucky Chamber in 2017 as Communications Manager and was named Senior Manager of Communications and Marketing last year. She plays a key role in the organization’s media relations, multimedia communications, and much more.
