As Kentucky lawmakers work to craft the state’s next two-year budget, data shows Medicaid, corrections, and public employee benefits continue to grow faster and need more revenue than the state can afford.
On Tuesday, the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce has released its ten-year update to The Leaky Bucket report which shows those three areas have continued to present major issues for the state budget.
The report concludes more revenue is required in addition to continued program reforms, representing a significant departure from the Chamber’s earlier Leaky Bucket reports.
